 Titchfield High school, one of the oldest high schools in Jamaica, was built in 1786 in an area in Port Antonio known as "Free School" and, in 1883 was moved to the old military barracks of Fort George where it was lead by headmaster, Major W. H. Plant.  Initially the school consisted of Infant, Elementary and Secondary Departments but later, the Elementary and Infant departments were separated from the Trust and Titchfield School then became only a Secondary School.

Present enrollment - approximately 1800 students with 86 members of staff preparing students for:-  CXC, O' Level, A' Level and C. A. P.  E. examinations.
